Admissions
Moving in — slowly, properly, and on your terms.
Most families find us at a moment when things need to happen quickly. We still take admissions at the pace the person moving in can manage — because a rushed move always costs more later.
How admission works.
1. The initial call
A phone call, at a time that suits you. We’ll want to hear who the home is for, what their days currently look like, what’s changing, and what matters to them.
2. A visit, usually an afternoon
Come and see the house. Bring whoever needs to come. We’ll walk you round, sit in the lounge with the kettle on, and answer the questions you’ve probably written down.
3. A proper assessment
Before anyone moves in, we sit with the resident and family to work through how daily life goes — the morning routine, the afternoon pattern, medication, mobility, and the things that matter more than the paperwork suggests.
4. Move-in week
The first week is intentionally gentle. Familiar items on the bedside, an armchair positioned correctly, staff who’ve already read the plan and know what to expect. We keep the family in the loop throughout.
5. A light-touch review
A quiet review at the end of the first month, and any time life changes. Care plans are living documents — not forms filed away in a drawer.
A note on fees
Weekly fees depend on the care a resident needs and the specific room. We share a fee sheet on the phone or at your visit so you’re never guessing. If you’re working with social services or NHS funding, we’re happy to talk to them directly.
