Residential care · East Yorkshire

A home where the care plan is built around what matters to the person.

Allendale House is a small residential care home in Patrington, on the Holderness coast of East Yorkshire. Before anyone moves in we sit down with them and their family and write down what a good day looks like. That conversation becomes the plan — not a template someone fills in later.

Our philosophy

A plan shaped by consultation — not a template dropped into place.

Our home provides service based on consultation and assessment of the resident’s needs. That means four things, in plain language:

  • We listen. To residents first, and also to family and anyone else with a real interest in the home. The conversation comes before the care plan.
  • We assess carefully. Assessments balance risk and need — they don’t lean on the safest-possible default that flattens what a person actually wants from their days.
  • We promote responsible risk-taking. A little risk, talked through openly, usually buys a better quality of life. We build the support around that agreement.
  • We plan for daily living. Not for paperwork, and not for inspectors. The plan is how the day actually goes.

What we do

Residential care, respite, and a settled home for later life.

We’re registered with the Care Quality Commission as a residential care provider. The list below reflects what we do — we don’t pretend to offer nursing or specialist services outside our scope.

Life at the house

The quiet pattern of the day is, in itself, the care.

Meals are cooked here. The kettle is on most of the morning. The afternoon paper arrives. The garden is planted for year-round interest and easy to walk with a frame. Families drop in without appointments — that’s the point of a home, rather than an institution.

In families’ own words

What people say about Allendale House.

  • Placeholder — replace with your own

Mum had been very unsettled in her last place. After a week at Allendale the staff already knew which side of the dining room she liked and what she wanted for breakfast. That matters more than it sounds.

Family member — placeholder quote, to be replaced

We’d want to include real quotes from your families on the live site — we’ve flagged the placeholder above as a TBD in the build notes.
